Overall Impression:
Having previously reviewed the excellent track, “Precious Love” by Hip Culture, I came into “Missing An Angel” with high expectations, and I can safely say that they have been resoundingly met. Whereas “Precious Love” had an undeniably Lating’esque theme to it, “Missing An Angel” opts for a more classic pop ballad sound, which is a testament to how versatile Hip Culture is in regards to songwriting. All the elements you would expect from a Hip Culture tune are here in abundance, superb performances, heaps of melody, and a towering feeling of positivity, all nicely wrapped up in an exquisite production that is oozing with warmth and clarity.

Strongest Point(s):
Beginning with a beautifully crafted arpeggio-based piano progression, the song opens with an air of calm and tranquility that perfectly establishes the song’s peaceful mood and instantly envelopes the listener. Anastasia’s lush, velvety voice gently enters and further heightens the track’s undeniable sense of placidity. Contrast plays an important role within “Missing An Angel” and the way in which the texture of the track is continually changing and developing gives the song a wholly organic feel. These subtle changes in texture, whether it’d be adding a new instrument part or the layering of multiple ideas, goes a long way to ensure the arrangement flows as smoothly as possible. As to be expected by a Hip Culture song, the production and overall mix are of an extremely high caliber, the level of detail on display is once again of a very high standard and it ensures the songwriting is presented in the most effective way possible.
