Song: Rocket Ship
REVIEWER: Kristina Mondo

Overall Impression: With futuristic and imaginative lyrics depicting dreams and aspirations of traveling through space, Hip Culture has just released their latest single “Rocket Ship”. A fitting title considering the song’s subject matter it explores the desire, wonder, and passion about exploring an unknown universe and how it feels and not knowing if or when they want to return back to earth, it’s about exploring and discovering something new. A unique and original composition combining the genres of the ’80s, pop, and new age music, it appeals to fans of genres across the board and could find its success on contemporary pop radio.

Strongest Point(s): The combination of the vocals and melody of this song really makes it sing, lead singer Rosebud’s soft, feminine and angelic vocals and harmonies create a unique and infectious pop sound that is easy to listen to. The melody and vocals flow together nicely as does the rhythm. The little nuances and accents throughout the song, as well as the combination of the guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards that create a fun, happy, 80’s inspired pop tune.  The glittering instrumentals create levity and brightness and Rosebud’s vocal performance matches the overall tone and energy of the song and creates those happy, love-inducing endorphins that everyone needs once in a while.
